Florida Hospital today unveiled new details of its plan for a new children’s hospital in the region, named the Disney Children’s Hospital at Florida Hospital.

Dubbed the “Children’s Hospital of the Future,” the new facility in Orlando will feature a dedicated children’s emergency department that will be the first in the United States to feature Ambient Experience Design solutions from Philips. Animation will be projected onto the room’s ceiling, while soft lighting and music aim to soothe young patients’ nerves.

The 7-story, 200-bed hospital, which is currently undergoing construction and renovation, is slated for a 2010 completion date.
