| The Dominion from Imaging3 is capable of multiple imaging functions, making it capable of replacing or supplementing some existing devices. |
• Imaging3 Inc (Burbank, Calif) plans to release a new product, The Dominion. The device is designed to generate images in a fraction of a second, allowing medical personnel to simultaneously perform procedures on the patient being imaged. "CT and MRI systems today produce high-quality 3-D reconstructions, but they do so in minutes, not in the fraction of a second that is required for real-time imaging," said Imaging3 CEO Dean Janes, noting that The Dominion fulfills those time necessities. Additionally, The Dominion is designed to be mobile, is capable of being pushed by an average person through a standard room door, and uses power from a standard wall outlet. The Dominion also uses photo-fluoroscopy, which produces approximately 40% to 50% lower dose output than standard fluoroscopy devices today.
