For several months now, Ive been the editor of this magazine,
your magazine, and I feel it is finally time that I show my face and share my thoughts.
First and foremost, it truly is exciting to be a part of this constantly evolving and
developing industry. The field of medical imaging has made so many strides, and its
interesting to witness all of the changes and improvements.
Since taking on my new role, Ive had the privilege of attending two big events.
At RSNA last November, I discovered myriad niches in this gigantic industry;
Februarys HIMSS conference illustrated the importance of information technology in
healthcareimaging in particular. At both shows, I had the chance to meet with many
fantastic vendors, physicians, and customers who embody every aspect of imaging.
What Ive noticed wont come as a surprise: Youre a passionate, driven
group thats ready for and excited about the next challenge. And your enthusiasm has
more than inspired me to maintain Medical Imaging as the monthly magazine that helps you
stay ahead of the curve. To that end, watch for the redesign of our Web site
(www.medicalimagingmag.com), which hits the Net mid-month. And starting with the July
issue, our newly refocused Editorial Calendar takes effect, replete with many of the
topics suggested by readers and industry experts.
But mostly, you can continue to count on our vibrant and explorative features and
departments, which strive to answer the question thats most pressing for you: How do
these new technologies affect me, my job, and the industry as a whole?
Each month, as you read the pages of Medical Imaging, youll notice the subtle
improvements that I, with the help of my talented staff, have implemented. Then, Id
like to hear your thoughtscomments, suggestions, questions, even criticisms. After
all, it is your magazine. Together, lets make it the best it can be.
