ACR CT Phantom
Gammex RMI (Middleton, Wis.) is introducing the ACR CT Accreditation Phantom, designed to be part of the American College of Radiology (ACR) CT Accreditation program. The phantom can be used for initial QA assessment and routine monthly QA testing to help ensure patients receive the lowest possible CT dose. The phantom consists of four modules designed to examine a broad range of scanner parameters including CT number accuracy, uniformity and image noise, slice width and high and low contrast (spatial) resolution. Solid Water construction makes for a convenient, physically stable test device that provides reproducible results over time.

Optical Disc Duplicator
Primera Technology, Inc. (Plymouth, Minn.) is announcing its ComposerMAX Optical Disc Duplicator. ComposerMAX is a heavy-duty, automated CD-R/DVD-R duplication system designed for high-volume production environments. With its built-in recordable drives, ComposerMAX produces up to 400 discs per job without operator intervention (at 32x recording speeds). Discs also can be transported to an optional, built-in Primera Technology ink-jet or thermal transfer optical disc printer for full color printing with up to 2,400 dpi print resolution. Depending upon the amount of data recorded and the graphics printed, ComposerMAX can produce up to 250 discs per hour. Educational Direct Dosemeter
Unfors Instruments (New Milford, Conn.) is debuting a new instrument to measure real-time dose and dose rate to the staff and others nearby during x-ray examinations such as interventional procedures. The EDD-30 is easy to use, according to the company, with only two keys used to control the device, it takes less than 10 seconds to learn how to operate the pocket-sized instrument. In the specially designed LCD, EDD-30 directly displays accumulated dose, dose rate and time. The instrument is provided with several user selectable alarm levels. The small unique sensor has spherical response characteristics with high accuracy and can easily be placed on a hand, at eye level or over the kidneys. The instrument can be disinfected with 70 percent alcohol.

Digital Camera
DuncanTech, Inc. (Auburn, Calif.) has released its new MS4100 high-resolution progressive scan digital camera. The MS4100 acquires images with a resolution of 1,920x1,080 pixels at a frame rate of 10 frames per second. The camera uses a color-separating prism and three CCD sensors to support RGB, color infrared (CIR) and four band (blue-green-red-near infrared) spectral configurations. The camera processes all image data at 10-bit pixel depth internally. Image data output format can be set for 8-bit or 10-bit pixel depth per channel under software control.
