Medison Co. Ltd. (Seoul, Korea) introduces the Sonoace 8000 digital ultrasound system, a
compact, ergonomic system offering 2D image quality, 3D functions and digital image
management. The new product is available in two versions: the Sonoace 8000 Live, with 3D
functions designed for OB/GYN imaging; and the Sonoace 8000 EX, without 3D applications.
Features include harmonic imaging, pulsed-inversion harmonics and multibeam processing

High-resolution lcd flat panel
Data-Ray Corp. (Westminster, Colo.), joins with Eizo Nanao Corp. (Matto, Japan) in
developing a 20.8-inch, 3 megapixel, high-resolution LCD flat panel for inclusion in the
Precision 3MX system. The Precision 3MX includes the flat-panel display, Data-Ray DR.KAL
calibration software and a Real Vision digital graphic controller. Slated for production
in the first quarter of 2002, the system will be distributed exclusively by Data-Ray Corp.
in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Both Data-Ray and Eizo Nanao will sell directly
