Agfa-Gevaert Acquires HYDMedia GmbH

Early this month, Agfa HealthCare acquired HYDMedia GmbH, a document management system provider with vendor-neutral document management solutions to the German-speaking health care market under the brand name HYDMedia.

HYDMedia's Document Management Systems allows for the archiving of medical information, such as diagnoses, radiology results, microfilms, and clinical and administrative documentation. The software supports and enhances information management on all levels, including hospital, clinical, and laboratory information systems, as well as patient, administrative, and financial data.

Bringing HYDMedia GmbH's solution aboard provides Agfa's customers with options. They can either implement the document solution as part of their existing hospital and clinical IT system, as part of Agfa HealthCare's ORBIS offering, or as a standalone solution.
