GE Healthcare Receives Full Corporate Accreditation from EHNAC
Late last month, the Electronic Healthcare Network Accreditation Commission (EHNAC) bestowed full corporate accreditation on GE Healthcare (USA)'s Centricity EDI Services.
An independent, not-for-profit accrediting agency, EHNAC oversees entities that send or receive HIPAA transactions or that transport or process Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) transactions between two or more trading partners in the health care community, according to GE Healthcare.
The accreditation shows that GE Healthcare's clearinghouse service has demonstrated to independent third-party evaluators its ability to deliver services consistent with the only standards in the industry that measure the overall business practices of a clearinghouse.
Covering a 2-year period, the accreditation is based on supplied documentation and a site visit evaluation. Included in the evaluation process was validation of GE Healthcare's security and privacy policies, as well as the company's production services.
